St George Utah Motels
St. George, Utah is located within the northern end of the Mojave
Desert at 2,860 feet above sea level and the average annual temperature
is approximately 61°. Three deserts come together in this region,
the Mojave, Great Basin and the Colorado Plateau. Many of the plants
and animals of these three deserts are found together only in the
St. George area.
Elevations around St. George range from 2000 feet to over 10,000
feet above sea level. Much of this area was once the bottom of an
inland sea called Lake Bonneville. With Hot summers and extremely
mild winters, St. George is also known as a winter haven for what
the 50,000+ locals like to call "Snow Birds" (tourists who come
to St. George to warm up away from the snow). St. George is also
home to the four year Dixie State College.
